Extended Care
Having a safe, supportive, drug-free environment is vitally important to the recovery process.
At Midwest Recovery Centers, we provide this type of environment to create a climate that is conducive to early recovery. Clients admitted into clinical services at MRC are encouraged to live in our structured sober living homes. These homes are supervised by staff 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Clients buy their own groceries and prepare their own meals. Each client receives a weekly allowance from their personal expense budget, and must account for all his spending each week. Clients will also have access and transportation provided to daily 12-step meetings in the Kansas City metro area. Each member of the residence is encouraged to complete daily chores, promoting responsibility and teamwork.
Outside of daily scheduled therapeutic groups and 12- step meetings, residents are encouraged to participate in health and fitness at our local gym, community service projects, yoga, urban gardening, cultural adventures from our regional art and music spectacles, and other exciting safe and sober social functions.
We further encourage personal growth and interaction by assigning roommates to develop accountability. The company of others in recovery provides a chance to build recovery skills based on honesty and gives an opportunity to contribute to a support system in a positive and sharing environment.
